Faux “Quest” Bars

Protein bars are all the rage, but they are filled with hidden sugars and carbs. Not to mention preservatives and other chemicals that can be left at the science labs.

So why not make yer own! Here is how I make one of my favorite flavors Peanut Butter Espresso.

It is super simple:
2 Tbsp of Fiber syrup
1 Scoop of protein powder
2 Tsp of almond flour
1 Tbsp of Espresso nut butter
1 Tsp of sugar free chocolate chips

In a pan heat up the syrup with low heat until it just starts to bubble.
Add peanut butter and mix well
Remove pan from the heat and mix in protein powder and almond flour.
The mix will be loose add contents to a bag and kneed.
Place in a mold of your choice with chocolate chips.
Place in the fridge for an hour to settle.
Get yer nom on!

  1. These look delicious! Do you have other recipes that use similar ingredients? I would hate to buy a whole jar of espresso nut butter (they come in jars right?) and only use a table spoon of it. Unless I eat the butter straight out of the jar as a dessert… hmm…

Yes! I will be posting more Flux “Quest” Bar recipes soon.

For now if you do not want to invest in this exotic nut butter, you can use a regular peanut butter of your liking and add pinch of finely ground espresso or coffee beans to the mixture.
Instance coffee also works really well to get that deep rich taste on the cheap.

Though a night spoon deep in a whole jar of nut butter sounds like a good time to me.
